There’s nothing worse than planning an awesome vacation, and paying for it, just to arrive at your transportation location to find out you don’t have the right ID to start your travels!!
U.S. Passport Books are used for International travel by air, sea, or land. If you are 16 years or older, these are valid for 10 years. 5 years if under 16. Costs as of the date of this blog post
$145 – first-time applicants 16 and older
$115 – applicants under 16
$110 – renewals by mail
U.S. Passport Card are used for entering the United States at land border crossings and sea ports-of-entry from: Canada, Mexico, The Caribbean, and Bermuda. The passport card cannot be used for international air travel. If you are 16 years or older, these are valid for 10 years. 5 years if under 16. Costs as of the date of this blog post
$65 – first-time applicants 16 and older
$50 – applicants under 16
$30 – renewals by mail
Where you apply depends on when you need your U.S. passport. Typically, you can take care of this at an acceptance facility or renew by mail.

Enhanced Drivers Licenses are used for entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean through land or sea port of entry. These are typically obtained through a local Department of Motor Vehicle Agency and costs vary by state but range usually start at $30 – 65 for the first one.
